Ronjon Nag b&w

Ronjon is an expert in AI, biotech and wireless communications, and is passionate about supporting innovative ideas that could become real business opportunities. Through this competition he wants to help your ideas come to life! This is a great opportunity to test out a project or idea with expert alumni who have experience working with Blackberry, Motorola and Apple. Last year's winner Tingyu's project was a Railway Pantograph; she says " I believe the prize sponsored by Dr Ronjon Nag will help push my research forward".

You can enter early stage start-up ideas or projects that you have, these could even have been completed as part of your undergraduate final year project, MSc individual project or PhD project. The key criteria for submissions is that projects must involve technology and e-commerce ideas are also welcome. Team entries are permitted and all entrants must obtain permission from your supervisor before making an application. The Competition is also open to those who are about to graduate!

As an example of ideas you could submit, last year's finalist projects included a cyclist road condition monitor and a face recognizer FPGA.

To be in with a chance to pitch to Ronjon and other alumni entrepreneurs there is a two-step process.

1. Complete an online application form by 16 August 2020
2. Finalists will be announced later that week and they will pitch to Ronjon and an alumni panel in early September
