Participants at the last colloquium in Birmingham (March 2019).

The next of these biennial colloquia will be held in Birmingham from Monday 15th to Wednesday 17th May 2023 (updated date).

The first focus of the colloquium will be on catenae, scholia or marginalia in New Testament manuscripts (in conjunction with the ERC CATENA project). The other theme will be a celebration of the 75th anniversary of the International Greek New Testament project (www.igntp.org): papers are invited on its history, members or work.

Proposals are invited for presentations on one of these topics (with normal slots being 30 minutes). A title and short abstract should be submitted by email to Prof. Hugh Houghton by 31st December 2022. An initial schedule and booking details will be released in early February 2023.

The plan is to hold the colloquium in person in Birmingham, but to ensure some form of wider dissemination for those unable to attend. This would, at a minimum, be recording presentations for upload to the IGNTP YouTube channel, but if there is sufficient demand we will explore livestreaming the conference via Zoom.

Papers from the Twelfth Colloquium, on New Testament fragments, will be published next month and may currently be pre-ordered for 60% of the cover price from Gorgias Press. Previous meetings are listed on the Birmingham Colloquium page.
