Beavers return to Hampshire after 400 years

Dr Joshua Larsen welcomes the release of beavers on the the Ewhurst Park Estate

Two beavers on a riverbank

“It’s great to see another release of beavers in the south of England. It’s fantastic that these managed releases into enclosures have the individual and community enthusiasm and resources to make the releases work and help build up the evidence base to allow a future with wild populations throughout the UK.

“Beavers can do so much to help with nature recovery within many riverine landscapes across the UK, and it’s really a groundswell of community-led efforts that is making it happen.”
