Dr Andrew Jupp has received 2023 Young Investigator Award by the Inorganic Reaction Mechanisms Group of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
Dr Jupp received the award for investigating the mechanisms that underpin a sustainable catalyst system called frustrated Lewis pairs (FLPs), in particular the pre-association of the acid and base components in an encounter complex. The understanding from this work will enable the design of new and more efficient main-group catalysts.
Based in the School of Chemistry, Andrew is an Assistant Professor and leads the Jupp Research Group, a growing group of talented researchers whose research interests lie at the interface of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and sustainability.
