The GALaCSy project is a collaborative Anglo-German project researching the earliest translations of the Pauline Epistles. It is jointly funded by the UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
The partners are based at ITSEE in Birmingham, the Niedersächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen and Universität Münster.
The annual meeting, with all project members present, was held this week in Birmingham to receive reports of the progress over the last year and plan for the next stage of the project. From ITSEE, Dr Oliver Norris presented his work on the Vetus Latina edition of Galatians and Dr Catherine Smith introduced the Versional Editor software to enable project partners to collect and contribute data for the Editio Critica Maior of Galatians and Ephesians.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Dr. Christina Kreinecker from KU Leuven, the principal investigator of the 1COR project and a visiting fellow of ITSEE, presented the work of that project to the assembled group.
