In this episode, the first by the SMART Schools Study team, we interview Marsha Blissett. Marsha is an ex-deputy headteacher who now works as an adviser for Services for Education, a charitable organisation who provide music education and support services for schools. This episode focuses on both restrictive and permissive phone policies used within secondary schools, alongside the idea of digital detoxes. Marsha draws on her 18 years of experience working in secondary schools to reflect on this topic and share her thoughts on what the optimal school phone policy might look like.
