Thinktank visitors challenged to escape the forest

Visitors to Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum will be invited to uncover clues and solve puzzles in a virtual trip to a huge outdoor forest experiment.

Researchers from the University of Birmingham’s Institute of Forest Research (BIFoR) will be at Thinktank during half term to host a guided tour of the experiment, which is based at Norbury in Staffordshire.

Participants will use virtual reality headsets in an ‘escape-room’-style challenge that will lead them to explore the forest and – hopefully – find their way back out again.

Visitors of all ages can come and find out more about this amazing experiment and about how climate change is affecting our woodlands and forests.

Dr Samantha Dobbie, BIFoR’s Education and Outreach Officer, said: “We’d like to encourage visitors of all ages to come and find out more about this amazing experiment and about how climate change is affecting our woodlands and forests.”
