Professor Katie Morris from the University of Birmingham's Department of Applied Health Sciences has been appointed as the National Reproductive Health & Childbirth Specialty Lead for the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR)'s new Research Delivery Network.

Her role will be to provide senior leadership and strategic direction for research delivery across the Reproductive Health and Childbirth network, as well as supporting funders and sponsors in study design.

I am particularly excited about building capacity and capability for study delivery and supporting the next generation of multi-disciplinary researchers in Women's Health, as well as embedding research across the whole of the NHS and diverse communities. I am keen that we innovate in our specialty with novel study designs and delivery methods that support inclusivity and diversity in research, helping us to address the stark health inequalities in Women's Health.
