A group of students from the Pathways to Birmingham programme took part in a company trek to The Collinson Group to discover more about global business.

The students, all of whom are studying different subjects across the University, came together to visit Collinson’s London offices to get a closer, hands-on look at life in a busy city firm.
The Collinson Group are experts in travel experiences and insurance, in particular through the airport lounge access programme, Priority Pass.
Organised by David Evans, Birmingham alumnus and Group Managing Director at The Collinson Group, the student trek included speed networking sessions, problem solving, and a chance to try out some presentation skills.
‘It’s a privilege to support events like these. They are a great way for students to find out more about what they want from a future career, and also a great way for us to get to know the next generation of talent.’

A highlight of the day was the Hackathon Challenge in which the group were invited to design a software solution that could make travel easier for passengers during disruption.
Following the visit David said: ‘It’s a privilege to support events like these. They are a great way for students to find out more about what they want from a future career, and also a great way for us to get to know the next generation of talent.’
Law student George Hicklin, who took part in the trek, said: ‘This was such an insightful and engaging day. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the company, its culture and the innovative work being done in this space.’
Nohaa Donia, who is studying Psychology, said: ‘After this experience, I feel like I’m now ready to start diving into the adult world, a little nervous, but mostly excited, with a new sense of confidence and curiosity for whatever’s next.’
And Marketing and Business Strategy student Mustafa Fadlalla added: ‘It’s great to see the strong relationship between Collinson Group and the University of Birmingham. I hope to see this partnership continue to grow and create more opportunities for students in the future.’
