A new web resource for teachers and school students will be launched at the University of Birmingham on Wednesday 29th March.

The web site, www.scibermonkey.org, features material for Key Stage 3 Science and will be launched at the Teachers’ Workshop during the Biochemistry Society’s Annual Symposium at the University. The keynote speaker will be Sir Mike Tomlinson, government advisor on 14 – 19 education and Board Member of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.

Scibermonkey, developed by the Biochemistry Society, is targeted at 11 – 14 year olds who want to learn more about science – and also at their teachers, providing them with the essential online materials. The website allows students and teachers to access information relevant to their year group and to search by individual topic, so that selected top-quality resources are mapped directly into the curriculum programme. Using simple website navigation, scibermonkey provides a quick, easy and invaluable tool for teachers.

The launch takes place at the Wolfson Building, University of Birmingham, 5 – 7pm
