Summer revellers will gather for a Victorian family picnic today at Galton Valley.
The epitome of summer pastimes will take place today at 12pm, and once picnickers have eaten as much jelly and ice cream as possible they can enjoy a host of activities Victorian style.
Activities include Victorian games, Punch and Judy and angling. There will be the opportunity to have Victorian photographs taken and there will be special activities for the kids.
The Victorian Family Picnic is the latest in a series of events which are part of the Smethwick Summit Canals Project, which aims to raise the profile of the history and heritage of the Smethwick Canals, primarily amongst the local communities.
Attendees should bring their own picnic and the day runs until 3pm at Galton Valley Heritage Centre in Smethwick.
