Birmingham Business School’s 100% online MSc in International Business has been AMBA accredited -  marking another world first for the School. As well as this, the School's suite of MBA programmes has been awarded a further five-year accreditation – the maximum accreditation period that can be awarded – by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), a leading authoritative body in business education.

AMBA accreditation is awarded to the best programmes internationally and denotes the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education. It provides a clear indication of the quality of education and reaffirms the Business School’s place within an elite group of business schools globally that hold the gold standard of ‘triple-crown’ accreditation from AACSB, AMBA and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).

This re-awarded accreditation adds to a portfolio of achievements for the Business School, which includes becoming the first fully-online MBA programme in the world to be AMBA accredited in 2016. The AMBA panel reviewed each MBA route individually, including full-time, online and executive MBA in UK and Singapore; the quality of teaching was assessed, as well as research, design and content of the curriculum, facilities, and resources.

Professor Catherine Cassell, Dean of the Business School, said, “In an increasingly competitive MBA market, it's great to see our MBA suite of programmes retain its place within an elite handful of Business Schools that hold a triple-crown accreditation. This reflects our ongoing investment in all areas of the programme in recent years, and our continued approach to improving and tailoring our programmes to meet the needs of the ever-changing global business environment.

This, and the commitment of our academic faculty, will continue to strengthen our position and student experience."

In its review, the AMBA applied the same care, rigour and scrutiny as it normally does for MBAs to assess the Birmingham Business School's 100% online Masters in International Business. Marking another world first for the School, the AMBA have accredited the School's online MSc in International Business, applauding its commitment to teaching.

The AMBA concluded that the programme is effective in delivering a wholly-online experience that combines quality and flexibility to enhance students' ability to perform at the highest level in today’s global business environment.

Dr Roshan Boojihawon, Programme Director for the Online MSc, said, Programme Director for the Online MSc, said, "Our distance learning MSc in International Business is a 100% online programme with content that has been designed specifically for an online environment.
