Success for the University of Birmingham in US league tables

Building on strong results in the 2019 QS World University Rankings and 2019 THE World University Rankings, the University has now been ranked 96th in the world in the Top 100 Global Universities according to the US News Global University Ranking.

Already ranked in the top 100 global universities in the 2019 QS World University Rankings at 79th and joint 116th globally in the Times Higher, the University has now achieved a top 100 position of 96th in the US News ranking, rising 11 places. This year’s performance is credited to a rise in the number of citations and the reputation of research carried out at the University, as well increasing recognition of the quality of teaching. Earlier this year, the University was also named the 6th most innovative institution in the UK and 34th in Europe in the Reuters Top 100: Europe’s Most Innovative Universities.

Professor Sir David Eastwood, Vice-Chancellor at the University of Birmingham said:

“The University of Birmingham is hugely proud of its standing as one of the world’s leading universities. Our research creates innovative and enduring solutions to some of the world’s biggest issues. The latest rankings represent a significant achievement for all of our staff and demonstrate the increasing recognition of the global impact and reach of our research.”
