Research

The Institute of Applied Health Research is structured into four cross-cutting, multi-disciplinary research areas:

Teaching

The staff at the Institute of Applied Health Research make a significant contribution to undergraduate and graduate medical education in the College of Medical and Dental Sciences at the University of Birmingham.

The Institute also has an extensive teaching and learning programme aimed at building research capacity in our four defined themes and providing skills for people already working in the health sector. These include post-graduate taught courses, research degrees and short courses. Masters courses in Public Heath, Health Economics and Clinical Trials are offered, enabling graduates to become leaders in their respective fields.
