Dr Rhoads Murphey, Reader in Ottoman Studies at the Centre for Byzantine, Ottoman and Modern Greek Studies was honoured last October by the Turkish National Academy.
At a ceremony convened in Istanbul at the Çiragan Palace on 30th October 2013 Dr Murphey was inducted as an “Honorary Member” of the Turkish Historical Foundation, one of the two constituent bodies of the Turkish National Academy together with the Turkish Language Foundation.
