At CEIS, our centre is all about producing high quality evidence.

But what's more important to us is ensuring

the public sector, industry and policy who are all recognising the importance

How do we do this?

We are a challenge led research institute

comprised of approximately 40 academic staff who all represent

a range of research methodological expertise,

qualitative mixed methods research, health economics,

quantitative research, implementation science, and evidence synthesis.

Our team, we are funded around four key areas of work which are called our pillars,

they’re embedded within disciplines and within methods.

Two of those are funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research,

which is the research arm of the NHS, the NIHR.

The first of those is our evidence synthesis group, and that here we are

conducting high quality evidence synthesis for a range of health and care policymakers across the UK.

The other arm is our Health Technology Assessment team, where we're looking at

whether new devices, new medicines, new pharmaceuticals, whether they work

and do they offer value for money for the NHS?

It's fundamentally important work.

Our evidence-based surgery group is driving a cultural change in surgery.

We are all about ensuring that surgical policy and practice is evidence based.
