Our Labs

Our laboratories bring together modern, flexible spaces that support cutting-edge, practice-led STEM education.
The main Collaborative Teaching Laboratory building spans three floors, housing a Wet lab, a Dry lab and an E-lab, supported by informal work and social areas for more than 100 learners.
We also teach in specialist Biosciences and Engineering laboratories located in their respective buildings, offering dedicated environments for activity-specific practical sessions.
Explore the labs below to find out how each space supports innovative teaching and hands-on scientific discovery.
The student experience in each of these spaces is strongly enhanced by Educational Technology, including pre-lab materials that prepare students with the necessary knowledge and skills before they physically enter the lab; in-lab assistance to ensure they make the most of their lab time; and post-lab analysis, reporting and assessment.

Biosciences Lab
5 multi-disciplinary teaching labs.Disciplines include, but not limited to biological science, human biology, animal biology, microbiology, biochemistry and environmental sciences.

Dry Lab
Our Dry Labs provide an industry-standard environment for physical sciences, environmental science, electronic, electrical and systems engineering and mechatronics teaching.

Engineering Lab
Our Engineering Lab spans two floors and supports hands-on teaching in mechanical engineering, structures, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and machine dynamics.

Wet Lab
The Wet Lab complex delivers advanced chemistry, materials science and analytical science teaching in a highly controlled environment.

E-Lab
The E-Lab is the university’s flagship computing and digital engineering teaching space, emulating a modern, industry-standard development environment to supports advanced software-based project work.
