Earth Sciences

In the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences

The Earth Sciences Research Group encompasses three key areas: the processes shaping the Earth's structure and surface;  the evolution and interactions of ancient life forms; and the study of past climate changes to understand future climate scenarios. These research areas aim to provide insights into Earth's history and inform predictions about its future.

Our research expertise covers themes such as Plate Tectonics, Volcanic and Magmatic Processes, Palaeobiology, and Palaeoclimates, and delivers high-quality teaching on Earth Sciences programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
