Energy Systems & Policy Analysis Group (ESPAG)
The transformation of global energy systems will require a combination of technological developments and policy instruments. The Energy Systems and Policy Analysis Group (ESPAG) takes an interdisciplinary approach to research, providing evidence that can inform decision-making across scales to meet societal goals. We focus on the integration of technologies into energy systems, considering techno-economic analysis, policy impacts and institutional structures. Deployment at scale needs incentives, infrastructure and an effective innovation system from research through to policy-making. Our projects cover energy storage, heat pumps and industrial decarbonisation.
About us
We are uniquely positioned to adopt an interdisciplinary, whole systems approach to socio-technical transformation towards net-zero, with a particular focus on local impacts and action.
