The department specialises in practice research, as well as critical and creative collaborations with theatre-makers and artists.

Through engaging in a variety of creative and critical collaborations, work in the department explores actor-training and directing methodologies; Live Art practice; theatre for young audiences; and immersive, interactive and participatory practices. This is framed by an engagement with the theorisations and methodologies of practice research and performance documentation.
