PRIME Lab (Precision Robotics for Industrial and Medical Engineering), advances the development of next-generation robotics, intelligent automation, and AI-driven technologies for healthcare and industrial applications.
Our research brings together precision robotics, AI, intelligent sensing, and advanced automation to create innovative solutions that address real-world challenges. In healthcare, our work spans areas such as medical and surgical robotics, assistive robotics, and intelligent patient monitoring, with a focus on technologies that can enhance the quality, precision, and efficiency of healthcare delivery.
For industry, PRIME Lab develops advanced robotic and automated solutions designed to accelerate the adoption of intelligent automation. We work to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and practical implementation, helping industries integrate robotics, AI, and automation into production environments and develop smarter, more flexible, and efficient manufacturing systems.
Through interdisciplinary research and collaboration with healthcare and industry partners, PRIME Lab aims to translate innovative ideas into practical robotic technologies with meaningful real-world impact.
PRIME Lab is actively building national and international collaborations with leading academic institutions, healthcare organisations, industry partners, and research networks. Through these partnerships, we aim to address complex challenges in healthcare and industry, accelerate the translation of research into real-world applications, and create innovative robotic and AI-enabled technologies with meaningful societal and economic impact.

Our vision is to create adaptive, intelligent, and human-centred robotic systems that enhance productivity, safety, and quality in complex real-world environments. By combining robotic platforms, multimodal sensing, AI-driven perception, and autonomous decision-making, we aim to bridge the gap between emerging robotic technologies and practical applications in industry and healthcare.
Our research spans precision industrial automation, medical robotics, intelligent measurement and inspection, and AI-enabled healthcare technologies. In industrial environments, we develop flexible robotic systems for advanced manipulation and process automation, enabling safer and more efficient production workflows. In healthcare, we investigate intelligent robotic platforms for applications including adaptive patient monitoring, telemedicine, medical imaging analysis, and medical waste management.
Through close collaboration with academic, clinical, and industrial partners, PRIME Lab aims to accelerate the transition from robotic research innovations to impactful solutions that address real-world challenges healthcare, industrial automation, and beyond.
