Responsible business: Theoretical foundations and futures

The Centre for Responsible Business (Area 1) warmly invites you to a half-day workshop on Responsible Business: Theoretical Foundations and Futures. The workshop will focus on the conceptual and theoretical underpinnings of responsible business research. It will bring together colleagues to reflect on the field’s development, identify key tensions and emerging directions, and explore how different theoretical perspectives can inform ongoing work.

CRB Panel: Applying for interdisciplinary grants

The Centre for Responsible Business would like to invite you to a panel on Applying for Interdisciplinary Grants. The aim of the panel is to start a conversation on interdisciplinary bids, including the ways that interdisciplinary research projects can be developed, how to join or develop interdisciplinary teams, approaches to developing stakeholder networks, and the benefits and challenges involved in interdisciplinary work.

  • BBS Green Week, 16th-20th March 2026, Birmingham Business School: Green Week included a series of activities and talks focusing on Textiles, People and Planet and Connecting with Nature. Co-organised by CRB and the Responsible Business Group.
  • Ecological Citizens in the Business School: Working with Nature in Developing Entrepreneurial Practice, 23rd February 2026, Winterbourne, Birmingham. Workshop led by Dr Caroline Chapain (Centre for Responsible Business Strategic Area Lead on Responsible Business Education), Dr Emma Surman and Dr Fatos Ozkan Erciyas. This research event explored how engaging with nature as part of the business curriculum can change the way that business students relate to, and think about, their entrepreneurship practices. The workshop brought together academics, students, business practitioners, community and environmental organisations, and members of the public to share experiences and explore implications for education and practice. Participants also had the opportunity to take part in a nature-based activity.
  • Centre for Responsible Business/Birmingham Plastics Network Research Sandpit, 3rd December 2025, Birmingham Business School. Led by Prof Caroline Moraes, Centre for Responsible Business Director.
  • Using Role Play in Education, a series of workshops across 2025-26. Led by Dr Ann-Christine Frandsen and colleagues, hosted by the Centre for Responsible Business at Birmingham Business School.
