The Sleep Network
Sleep is the foundation of physical, mental, and cognitive wellbeing—yet 90% of UK adults report sleep problems, costing the economy £34 billion annually. The Sleep Network is pioneering solutions to change this.

The Sleep Network is a dynamic, interdisciplinary hub of researchers, clinicians, industry partners, and policymakers working together to advance sleep and circadian science. Our network spans psychology, neuroscience, medicine, engineering, and beyond—united by a mission to improve lives through better sleep.
What do we do?
- World-Class Research: Using cutting-edge technology including neuroimaging, EEG, Omics, and a multidisciplinary approach to explore how sleep affects all aspects of health and drives real world impact.
- Training & Knowledge Exchange: Promoting a multi-model approach to sleep research beyond traditional fields like psychology and neuroscience. Through expert workshops, advanced training and doctoral pathways, we are developing the next generation of sleep researchers.
- Innovation & Impact: We collaborate with industry partners to develop scalable technologies and interventions that address sleep-related challenges across healthcare, transport, and the workplace, while actively working to reduce sleep inequality.
- Policy Leadership: Our research informs and shapes policies that promote healthier workplaces, occupational health, road safety, shift work management, public health strategies, and approaches to sleep and circadian health.
Together, we’re turning cutting-edge sleep science into real-world impact.
