UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities

As part of the government investment for the UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities (UKCRIC), the University of Birmingham has constructed the National Buried Infrastructure Facility (NBIF) and significantly enhanced and refurbished its Transient Railway Aerodynamics (TRAIN) rig.

UKCRIC coordinates research activities in the fields of infrastructure and cities across academia combined with close collaboration with industry and government. It provides the transdisciplinary, systems-based research for the transformation of infrastructure and urban systems, enabling safe, resilient and sustainable living, and generating economic opportunities for the UK.
