Winterbourne Weather Station

The School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences has a weather enclosure located on the North of the Edgbaston Campus that collects a rich record of urban weather data.
Our records currently include >10 million observations beginning in the 1790s, likely the longest urban record in the country. The site is shared with the UK Met Office, who also have their own set of co-located equipment in the enclosure.
We routinely collect the following weather parameters every minute of every day, which are freely available for use:
- Air Temperature & Humidity
- Precipitation
- Wind speed, direction & Atmospheric Pressure
- Ground and soil temperatures, radiation and sunshine
