The Hymn Trial - Hyperthermia Plus Mitomycin 

Hymn is a randomised controlled phase III trial comparing hyperthermia plus mitomycin to a second course of bacillus Calmette-Guérin or standard therapy in patients with recurrence of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer following induction or maintenance bacillus Calmette-Guérin therapy.

This trial is looking at a new treatment for superficial bladder cancer called microwave induced hyperthermia use with local chemotherapy. This will be compared to the standard treatments that are currently available for these patients.

Patient recruitment is now open - 95 patients have been recruited to date.

Around 242 Patients will be enrolled from 20 plus NHS centres across the UK.

This trial is funded by Cancer Research UK, coordinated by the University of Birmingham CRUK- Clinical Trials Unit and sponsored by University College London.
