This first patient to be treated using this new vaccine was filmed by BBC Midlands. The vaccine uses dendritic cells which also fights the disease while patients receive chemotherapy.

It has been through five years of preparation and regulatory checks and is produced in the highly regulated Advanced Therapy Facility, under the guidance of Dr Stuart Curbishley (pictured), Mirka Blahova and Manita Mehmi. Seventy patients will undergo the trial with half receiving the dendritic cells vaccine.
