As part of the IMSR Seminar Series, Dr Jan Kroon, Postdoctorial Researcher at Leiden University Medical Center, will give a talk on "The glucocorticoid receptor as a therapeutic target in metabolic disease, sexually dimorphic effects and crosstalk with the androgen receptor".

Jan’s research focuses on the role of the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) in disease. His PhD-project (2012-2016) was carried out in a collaborative project between the University of Leiden and the University of Twente, covering GR function in prostate cancer and additionally explored the therapeutic potential of GR in models for metastatic and chemotherapy-resistant disease. His latest research is directed towards deciphering why GR signaling is sexually dimorphic, and investigates how androgen receptor signaling influences GR action in metabolic tissues.

Registration isn't required for this event.
