Our Research and Commercial Services team provide:

  • Project and bid development - from an original idea to the submission stage
  • Funding opportunities - advice and guidance on funding opportunities available from research councils, governments and charities, as well as funding options from within the University
  • Compliance with research governance and ethics - advice and support on the University’s governance procedures, which ensure that research practices comply with statutory and funder requirements
  • Contracting - help in negotiating contracts with third parties
  • Working with business and industry - Alta Innovations Ltd manages the commercial use of our intellectual property, and is responsible for the licensing and the ‘spinning out’ of new companies

Entrepreneurship and Innovation aspires to encourage and promote enterprise, innovation and entrepreneurship amongst students, staff and alumni.

University Graduate School provides dedicated support and development for postgraduate researchers, including the innovative Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Research Methods and Skills (PGCARMS).
