Travel Bursary Scheme

The Network is proud to be able to offer financial assistance to its members to attend Network events through the travel bursary scheme. Bursaries are awarded on a competitive basis.
The BactiVac Network are offering travel bursaries of to up to £1,500.00 GBP to support travel costs to attend our 7th Annual Network Meeting.
This scheme is open to the following Network members:
- Any BactiVac Network Member who is based in an organisation within an LMIC country
- Early Career Researchers (individuals who do not currently hold a substantive position within their organisation)
Due to restrictions imposed on BactiVac, there has been a change of policy from some of the funders which impacts on the ability of the Network to provide any funding to members based within an institution in the People’s Republic of China (China). Therefore, no Travel Bursary Applications from members based in China can be processed by the Network.
Network Members wishing to apply for a travel bursary must:
- Complete the application form in full by Sunday 12 April 2026 (23:59 UK Time)
- Submit an abstract for the meeting by Sunday 12 April 2026 (23:59 UK Time)
- Register to attend the 7th Annual Network Meeting by Sunday 31 May 2026
The Network will typically only support one travel bursary from a single institution and preference will be given to applicants not previously awarded a BactiVac Travel Bursary.
Full details relating to the payment of travel bursaries are available in our BactiVac Non-Staff Expense Guidelines. Applications will be reviewed by the BactiVac Network Operations Management Group after the submission deadline.
