Values for Cohesion Shadow Play

Karagöz and Hacivat is a traditional form of Turkish shadow puppetry that dates back to the Ottoman period and is recognised by UNESCO as an element of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Featuring the humorous banter of its two main characters, Karagöz and Hacivat, the play explores social themes through storytelling. In this project, shadow play is used as a creative medium to spark conversations about values, identity, and cohesion, bringing communities together through culture.
