People at the heart of care – delivering the vision in practice.

About this event

Improving Adult Care Together (IMPACT), based at the University of Birmingham, invites you to join this Conservative Party Conference Fringe Meeting at the beautiful Grade II listed building in the civic heart of Birmingham, The Exchange. Hear from an expert panel as they discuss utilising evidence to build a collaborative future for adult social care, the people and the heart of care and delivering that vision in practice.

The discussion will explore the barriers, the most promising ways forward in a difficult context, and the priorities for change. The session will build on early insights from IMPACT. IMPACT is a new UK centre for implementing evidence in adult social care.

Drawing on insights from people who draw on care and support, practice, policy and research, this session seeks to explore:

  • What are the key barriers holding us back from delivering this vision for everyone and on a more consistent basis?
  • In a difficult context, what are some of the most promising and fruitful ways forward?
  • What are some of the most immediate priorities for change?

The event will take place in The Exchange's Assembly Room (3 Centenary Square, Birmingham B1 2DR).

PLEASE NOTE: Refreshments will be available from 9.00am and the event will begin at 9.30am, closing promptly at 10.30am.

The University of Birmingham is hosting a number of party conference events. Join us at our fringe events to discuss the policy-relations questions of the moment and discover how our research is shaping policy decisions.
