Biochemistry courses

We offer various Biochemistry degrees with options to study abroad or to undertake a professional placement during your studies. We also offer a number of specialist degree pathways that enable you to focus your interests as you progress through your chosen programme.

Our Biochemistry courses build on a suite of shared modules. After a first year with preset modules, you can increasingly follow the content that interests you most.

The 4-year options add distinct opportunities to expand your training, for instance by doing an industry-based project during the Year in Industry (Professional Placement), or adding an international dimension to your qualification through the Year in Europe or International Year options. Finally, if you are interested in a career in research you might explore the Biochemistry MSci option, which adds a research-focused Masters year to the standard 3-year course.

Specialist Degree Label Options

Across all of our Biochemistry programmes you are able to reflect on the modules you have taken and add a specific pathway (if you meet the requirements) at the start of the final year of your degree programme. These labels enable you to showcase a particular area of interest and skills that may act as a springboard to the next stage of your career.
