On 1st October 2012, Professor Mark Viant was elected as the President of the International Metabolomics Society.
The mission of this Society is to promote the growth and development of the field of metabolomics internationally, spanning plant, microbial, biomedical, nutritional and environmental metabolomics. Dr Warwick Dunn, who joins the School of Biosciences on 1st January 2013 as a Lecturer in Metabolomics, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Society. But the relationship of our School to the Metabolomics Society doesn't stop there! Dr Jennifer Kirwan, who runs the School's Metabolomics Service, is actively serving as the Membership Secretary.
