The Midlands Regional Doctoral Colloquium took place on 12 June 2015 in the Business School, bringing together 76 participants from the Business Schools of Birmingham, Aston, Loughborough, Nottingham and Warwick. This was a chance for doctoral students to present their work in front of their peers as well as be a part of a wider research community within the Midlands.

The colloquium was thought provoking, offered a strong multidisciplinary spirit and was an excellent opportunity for early career researchers to present their ideas in a supportive and collegiate environment. The Birmingham students chaired the four streams of presentations. Thirty five students presented their work over 5 disciplines: Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management  and Economics.  Professor Paul Edwards (editor in Chief, Human Relations) delivered the plenary session on successful journal submission. Charles Rahal was awarded a book token for the best paper for his paper on ’Computational forecasting with FRED: An application to state-level house prices.’
