Success in Economist MBA rankings for Birmingham Business School

We are delighted to announce that the Business School at the University of Birmingham has once again been recognised for the quality of its MBA programme, rising in the rankings of the world’s most elite business schools.

The Which MBA? rankings, published by The Economist today, compares the leading full-time MBA programmes across the globe, measuring them against a range of criteria including personal development/education experience, career opportunities, salary, and alumni network.

Globally, the MBA offered at the University of Birmingham is placed 82nd, an improvement since its standing in 2018. Specifically, the Business School improved in the areas of educational experience and potential to network, placing at 45 and 17 respectively.

These improvements showcase our continued investment into our MBA programmes and our dedication to developing the quality of education that we provide to our students.

Dr Paul Lewis, Director of the MBA at the Business School, comments, “We are delighted that the Birmingham MBA continues to be recognised by the Economist/Which MBA? as providing an outstanding educational experience with real opportunities for personal and professional development. In a period of rapid change and uncertainty we are proud to support our fantastic students and alumni in making a positive contribution to the societies in which they live and work.”

Professor Catherine Cassell, Dean of the Business School, comments, “In an increasingly competitive MBA market, it's great to see our MBA programme continue to improve within The Economist’s Which MBA? rankings. This reflects our ongoing investment in all areas of the programme in recent years, and our continued approach to improving and tailoring our programmes to meet the needs of the ever-changing global business environment."

The MBA ranking is amongst many successes achieved by the Business School this year as they were also re-accredited by leading bodies, AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS.
