James Snyder

On Wednesday 20 January, Birmingham Business School at the University of Birmingham welcomed a very distinguished visitor.

Professor James Snyder from Harvard University was hosted by the Accountability and Governance cluster within the School. Professor Snyder delivered a seminar entitled, ‘Intra-Party Disagreement and Inter-Party Polarization.’

Professor Snyder's primary research and teaching interests are in American politics. He has written on elections, campaign finance, legislative behaviour and institutions, direct democracy, the media, and corruption.  He is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Dr. Siddhartha Bandyopadhyay who was the lead host for the event commented, ‘we were delighted to host such a distinguished visitor as Professor Snyder, the event had a superb turn out and we look forward to hosting similar speaker events in the near future.’
