The AHRC has recently released its Annual Report covering the year 2011/12, which provides data on the amount of research funding awarded to each institution. We are pleased to say that it demonstrated that, of the 94 English institutions that applied to the AHRC, the University of Birmingham ranked second for the total value of awards. It also ranked fifth for the number of awards made and eighth for the number of applications submitted.

In addition, Birmingham success rates were higher than the national average for a variety of funding streams, including both the Standard and Early Career route Research Grants, the Early Career Fellowships scheme and the Research Networking scheme.
