On behalf of the University of Birmingham Drama Department staff and students, past and present, we would like to express our deep sadness on hearing the news of Victoria Wood’s passing.
We are proud to recognise her as among our best known and best loved alumni, graduating from the department with a BA in Drama and Theatre Arts in 1974 to become one of the nation’s all-time favourite artists. We know that her loss will be widely felt, given the joy and laughter she brought to so many. Our sympathies and best wishes are with her family and friends at this time.
