Final year BA English Language student, Samantha Ford has presented her work at the Undergraduate Linguistics Association of Britain (ULAB) 2017 hosted by the University of Cambridge.
She presented her third-year Language and New Media project, which was about how likes and reactions can operate as an extension to the evaluation of Facebook status updates posted in 2016. She found it to be a very informative experience and received excellent feedback on her presentation, receiving an invitation to submit to the 10th International Symposium of Politeness (SymPol10) hosted by York St John University on 12-14 July 2017. Overall, the ULAB conference has experience proved a great start to her academic career.
