Our first year is shared across the disciplines of Civil Engineering, Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.  This builds upon essential engineering fundamentals to develop students' broader understanding of behaviour, policy, entrepreneurship, and global perspectives.

Engineering

We also offer a route into Civil, Mechanical or Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering for those who have not quite decided which engineering discipline is right for them. Following a shared first year learning fundamental skills, you will then move into the Engineering department of your choice.

New building and facilities for the School Of Engineering

Work successfully completed on the £46.5M new School of Engineering building in February 2021. The state-of-the-art building is a 12,000 sqm facility, spans five floors and features a double-height atrium.

Our School of Engineering comprises of the Departments of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering. The University also offers engineering courses within the following disciplines:
