On Saturday 28 October 2017, the University’s Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) and the Computer Science Societies (CSS) hosted the third edition of the Women in Technology Conference, to celebrate women working in, or aspiring to work in, one of the world’s fastest growing industries.

The conference, sponsored by EY, FDM, Goldman Sachs, Accenture, and IBM, amongst many others, showcased a variety of inspirational TED style talks.

The talks, presented by speakers from a wide range of disciplines, provided a fascinating insight into life with a STEM focused career, including what it’s like to be part of a graduate scheme, becoming an entrepreneur, climbing the ladder in academia and gaining a positive work-life balance.

Amongst the talks, Georgina Russell, Digital Strategy and Transformation Senior Associate at Price Waterhouse Cooper (PwC),  gave an insightful talk about her graduate scheme at PwC, and how she has progressed at the company.

Following presentations, there was an opportunity for guests and speakers to network, to get a better insight into work culture, as well as tips for students’ work applications. This resulted in a positive outlook on future career aspirations for all.
