Dr Maxim Bolt has received an ESRC Future Research Leaders Award, for his project exploring will-making in South Africa's middle class.
The research takes a perspective on class reproduction that foregrounds the intersections between the economy and the law. By employing ethnographic and historical methods, it examines the formal processes and institutions that shape conflicts over property and plans for the next generation. The award begins in spring 2016 and runs for 36 months.
