Birmingham Law School's Professor of Health Care Law, Professor Jean McHale, and Dr Nicola Gale, Research Fellow in Medical Sociology in the Department of Primary Care Clinical Sciences at Birmingham, have been awarded a grant by the Wellcome Trust to run a conference on "Regulation and professionalisation in complementary medicine: historical perspectives and contemporary concerns".
The conference will be held in Birmingham in May 2011 and will be a co-venture between the Institute of Medical Law, Primary Care Clinical Sciences and the Birmingham University Research Network for Complementary and Alternative Medicine which was established by Dr Gale and Dr Eliot Marston, the BUPA Translational Research Manager.
