Dr Jutta Vinzent has been awarded a Fellowship at the Max Weber Center for Advanced Cultural and Social Studies (Max-Weber-Kolleg für Kultur- und Sozialwissenschaftliche Studien) at the University of Erfurt in Germany from 1 January to 31 July 2012.
The prestigious Fellowship has been awarded in recognition of Jutta’s publications examining twentieth-century visual cultures in the aftermath of political oppression and authoritarian rules in Europe.
A central role played her activities related to the European Union-funded research project Overcoming Dictatorships with partners in Rumania, Hungary, Poland, Germany and Italy, 2006-9 (including Jutta Vinzent, Overcoming Dictatorships. The Fellowship will enable her to work on her monograph on modernist spaces in 1930s Britain that explores the role of formal, social and political spatiality in art theory and practice of the time.
