Alois Riegl in Vienna 1875-1905

The series, published by Ashgate, aims to support and promote the study of the history and practice of art historical writing, from the past to the present day in all areas and all periods. Additional volumes to be published in 2014 include a study of British Romanticism and the reception of Italian Old Master art, as well as the theory of the tache in nineteenth-century painting.
