On Sunday 29 September, BBC Radio 3 is devoting a whole day of broadcasting to the subject of Al-Andalus, focusing on the music, culture, history and legacy of medieval Islamic Spain and Portugal.

Dr Alice Corr, who specialises in the languages and dialects of the Iberian branch of the Romance family and their history, will contribute to the Early Music Show Special: Al Andalus!, which airs from 12:00-15:00. In the programme hosted by Hannah French, Dr Corr will discuss the linguistic history of Al-Andalus and its legacy on modern-day Spanish and Portuguese.

Following the broadcast, the programme will be available online on the BBC website for 30 days.
