On 4 November 2019, Charlotte Ross gave the first seminar in a new series of public events organised by the Department of Sociology and Social Research at the University of Trento, Italy: 'Prendersi le parole: lessico, immagini e politiche dei movimenti femministi e LGBTQI+' [Speaking Out: Words, images and politics of the feminist and LGBTQI+ movements'.
The seminar explored the complex issue of surrogacy in relation to recent debates in Italy that have led to fractures in the LGBTQ+ movement.
