The prize, which carries a monetary value of £300, is to be awarded to the best final-year student in Italian.

It has been established by Dr Katerina Krikos-Davis in honour of her late husband, Professor Harry C. Davis (1927-2014), Lecturer in Italian Studies (1966-1994), Head of the Department (1989-1994), Secretary of the Dante Alighieri Society (1966-1989) and President of the Society (1989-1994).
