Dr Jeremy Morris acted as a panel chair and discussant at the international research workshop – ‘Imagining Development Comparing Theory and Practice of Development in the Post-socialist World’, held at the Institute of Governance and Political Science, Tallinn University, Estonia, 8-9 November 2013.

The workshop also marked the start of Dr Morris’ Marie Curie Project: ‘Imagining Development: A multidisciplinary and multilevel analysis of development policies and their effect in the post-socialist world.’ The workshop saw lively discussion of anti-corruption measures in the region in particular. It also served as the official book launch of Dr Morris’ The Informal Post-Socialist Economy Embedded Practices and Livelihoods (Routledge 2013). From smugglers to entrepreneurs, blue-collar workers and taxi drivers, this book deals with the multitude of characters engaged in informal economic practices in the former socialist regions.
